Challenge Participant Services provides:
  • Vocational assessments – standardized and situational

  •  On the job try-outs at local employers or at our enclaves
  •  Job development & job search skills & activities
  • Job Coaching/Training

  •  Work Skill Building
  •  Access to Life Options programs
  •  Daily Advisement and Support

All Participant Services are structured with the end goal of the greatest vocational independence possible, and increased community inclusion.

Opportunities for all service recipients include placement at one of Challenge’s enclaves for work experience, situational assessment, skill building, and temporary or ongoing employment. Current enclave or group work sites are: Ithaca College – all 3 dish rooms, Cornell Campus Life Custodial, and Challenge’s Hydroponic Greenhouse.

During the past several years, Challenge has become committed to developing business enterprises as a way to support its mission to provide quality employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Challenge operates a number of business operations including Finger Lakes Fresh that employ workers with and without disabilities.

Finger Lakes Fresh and other Challenge businesses are an integral part of shifting Challenge’s employment programs from supporting workers with disabilities in a work center to providing competitive employment with non-disabled workers in community settings.
